Edition 2025 — Palio delle Contrade
In 2025, the Palio delle Contrade of Vigevano once again brought the Renaissance to the Sforza Castle, with the competition between the twelve districts for the Cencio. Historical parades, costumed participants, historical groups, games, and shows animated the city in honor of Blessed Matteo Carreri.
The 2025 edition of the Palio delle Contrade of Vigevano took place at the Sforza Castle, in the Province of Pavia, recreating the grand Renaissance re-enactment organized by the Associazione Sforzinda. The twelve districts of the city competed for the Cencio with a historical parade, games, performances by flag-wavers and falconers, dances, and fire shows, with the participation of hundreds of costumed figures in honor of the patron saint Blessed Matteo Carreri.
