Edition 2025 — Palio of Piancastagnaio

The 2025 edition of the Palio delle Contrade of Piancastagnaio concluded on August 18th with the victory of the Contrada of Voltaia. Riding the horse Dubbio, jockey Silvano Mulas secured his third success in the Amiata race, bringing the Cencio to the black-and-white district ahead of rivals Borgo, Castello, and Coro.

The 2025 Palio reached its decisive moment on August 18th, when the four districts faced off in the traditional bareback horse race. The Contrada of Voltaia triumphed, with jockey Silvano Mulas riding the horse Dubbio: for Mulas, this marked his third victory in Piancastagnaio. The captain of the winning district, in his first time in this role, was Claudio Benanchi. The race, preceded by the Night of the Flags on August 1st and the usual festival events, confirmed the intensity of the district rivalry on Mount Amiata.
