Edition 2025 — Palio delle Barche

In 2025, the Palio delle Barche once again animated Passignano sul Trasimeno for a week with its re-enactment of the 1495 escape. The four districts Centro Storico, Centro Due, Oliveto, and San Donato competed in the spectacular boat race, partly on the lake water and partly running through the alleys with boats on their shoulders, amidst historical costume parades, shows, and district taverns.

The 2025 edition of the Palio delle Barche confirmed the tradition that has enlivened Passignano sul Trasimeno (PG) since 1984. For an entire week, the lakeside village relived the 1495 escape between the Baglioni and Oddi families, with the four districts — Centro Storico, Centro Due, Oliveto, and San Donato — as protagonists of the challenges.

The boat race took place in the usual three phases, alternating the waters of Lake Trasimeno with running races carrying boats on shoulders through the alleys of the historic centre. Costume parades, shows, and the district taverns at Giardini del Pidocchietto completed one of Umbria's most evocative re-enactments, attracting visitors from all over the region.
