Edition 2025 — Palio della Vittoria

On Sunday, June 29, 2025, the 21st edition of the modern era of the Palio della Vittoria of Anghiari took place. The Municipality of Anghiari triumphed thanks to the feat of Luca Capacci, who covered the 1,440 meters in 5'40". A total of 78 athletes representing 19 municipalities enlivened the day, preceded by historical pageants from Anghiari, Sansepolcro, Florence, and Arezzo.

The 2025 edition of the Palio della Vittoria, the 21st since its modern revival, took place on Sunday, June 29th, in Anghiari. The day opened at 6:30 PM with the historical re-enactment and the parade in Piazza Baldaccio Bruni of the mayors, the historical pageants of the participating municipalities, and the athletes, with knights, parades in historical costumes, musicians, and flag-wavers.

At sunset, the 1,440-meter uphill race from the Cappella della Vittoria to Piazza Baldaccio Bruni was held. The winner was local runner Luca Capacci, who crossed the finish line in 5'40", finishing 6 seconds ahead of Samuele Cesaroni from the Municipality of Montepulciano; third was Luca Pentolini from the Municipality of Città di Castello with 5'50". With this victory, the Municipality of Anghiari won the banner for the fifth time, having not succeeded since 2015. In total, 78 athletes representing 19 municipalities competed. The evening concluded with the Victory Dinner along the ancient village walls.
