Edition 2025 — Palio della Mannaja

In 2025, the Palio della Mannaja once again animated Pietralunga for an entire week in August, culminating on the second Sunday of the month. Amidst concerts, shows, district taverns, and the re-enactment of the 1334 miracle, the highlight was the 'biroccio' race, with the five districts competing against the clock to push the heavy 430 kg medieval cart through the streets of the historic centre.

The 2025 edition of the Palio della Mannaja confirmed the usual ritual: a week of celebration in the historic centre of Pietralunga with evening concerts, theatrical performances, music, and folklore. On Saturday evening, the historical re-enactment of the miracle that occurred in 1334 was held, with the pilgrim saved by the cleaver that refused to strike.

On Sunday afternoon, the five districts — Borgo de Sopra, Borgo de Sotto, Quartiere del Monte, Quartiere delle Valcelle, and Quartiere del Pisciandale — competed in the 'biroccio' race, pushing the 430 kg cart by hand along the time-trial course. Taverns, inns, and artisan shops opened in the village, with performances by flag-throwers and drummers.
