Edition 2025 — Palio della Contea

The 8th edition of the Palio della Contea of Aquino took place on September 5, 6, and 7, 2025, in Piazza San Tommaso. The town's eight districts - Crucela, San Pietro Vetere, Piazza, Giusaranna, Canapine, Filetti, San Marco, and Valli - competed in traditional folk games, amidst pageants, flag-wavers, and the involvement of the entire Aquino community. Friday was dedicated to the Children's Palio, with games reserved for children.

Palio della Contea of Aquino 2025 - 8th edition

From September 5 to 7, 2025, Aquino hosted the eighth edition of the Palio della Contea in Piazza San Tommaso. The event opened on Friday with the Children's Palio, dedicated to the children of the districts with traditional games, and continued over the weekend with official competitions between the town's eight districts.

Three evenings of choirs, songs, dances, flags, and banners enlivened the historic center under the gaze of the statue of Saint Thomas Aquinas, confirming the Palio as one of the most popular historical re-enactments in Ciociaria and an opportunity to promote local products, from the Favetta di Aquino to other Ciociaria agri-food excellences.
