Palio della Balestra Festival

The 2025 Palio della Balestra Festival animated Sansepolcro from September 1 to 14, 2025. The program began on September 1 with the presentation of the banner and the drawing of pairings at Palazzo delle Laudi, followed by the Palio di Sant'Egidio. The main days featured processions of flag-wavers — including those from twin cities — the Mercato di Sant'Egidio in the Cathedral cloister, Renaissance games in Piazza Torre di Berta, demonstrations of ancient combat techniques at the Sala d'Arme Achille Marozzo, and events in the Cathedral, including the propitiatory concert and the Offering of the Wax. On Sunday, September 14, after the herald's procession and the investiture of the Field Master, the Palio della Balestra between the cities of Sansepolcro and Gubbio was held in Piazza Torre di Berta, concluding with the victory procession.
