Palio dell'Ascensione 2025

The 2025 edition of the Palio dell'Ascensione renewed the appointment with the oldest equestrian tradition in Sicily in Floridia, in the province of Syracuse. The eight historic districts - Taverna, Stazione, Chiazza, Chianu i Masciu Vartulu, Carmine, Marchesa, Vignalonga, and Santuzzu - competed in qualifying heats and the final, with jockeys riding bareback through the streets of the center.

Alongside the races, the city experienced intense days filled with historical processions, the blessing of the horses, flag-wavers, and moments of conviviality, in an atmosphere of great involvement that attracted audiences from all over the province of Syracuse. The edition consolidated the recognition of the UNPLI Quality Mark, confirming the organizational solidity and the identity value of the festival.
