Edition 2025 — Palio del Ticino
2025 was a year of pause for the Palio del Ticino. Pavia's historic re-enactment, dedicated to the victory of the Visconti fleet in 1431, was suspended for a year due to organizational hurdles—a pause reminiscent of the one experienced during the pandemic years. However, organizers have announced the event's return in 2026, with a special edition celebrating twenty years since the palio's refoundation. The tradition of the historical procession and the 'barcè' rowing race on the Ticino remains alive and eagerly awaited by the city.
