Palio del Mare 2025, third edition
The 2025 edition of the Palio del Mare took place on May 31 in Gaeta, in the province of Latina, with races held in the waters between Largo Generale Bonelli and Piazzale Caboto. As the third edition of the event, which was born in 2023 on the initiative of the VogAmare Gaeta association together with the Municipality, the appointment confirmed itself as one of the most attended events of the celebrations in honor of Saints Erasmus and Marcian.
As per tradition, the day alternated between ritual moments and sporting challenges: the blessing of the oars and crews, followed by rowing races along the city coast, watched by a crowd gathered on the quays. A simple and free format that, in just a few editions, has managed to turn rowing into a symbol of Gaeta's maritime identity.
