Edition 2025 — Palio del Mare

The 12th edition of the Palio del Mare in Anzio took place in September 2025, featuring the traditional sailing challenge between the city's eleven districts aboard J24 one-design boats. The event combined the regatta in the port waters with the historical re-enactment component linked to the founding of modern Anzio.

In 2025, the Palio del Mare in Anzio celebrated its twelfth edition, confirming the formula that makes the event unique: eleven districts competing on identical J24 class sailboats, with two citizens per district allowed on board. The regatta took place in the waters off the port of Anzio, in the Lazio region, in front of a large crowd gathered on the pier and the seafront. As per tradition, the sporting challenge was intertwined with the historical re-enactment of the birth of the port commissioned by Pope Innocent XII, and concluded with the awards ceremony for the winning district in the city center.
