Palio del Fantasma

The 35th edition of the Palio del Fantasma took place between late July and early August 2025 in Castel Ritaldi, in the province of Perugia. The symbolic historical re-enactment of the town saw the five districts — Castel Ritaldi, La Bruna, Mercatello, Colle del Marchese, and Castel San Giovanni — compete in tests of skill, strength, and luck that award the coveted palio.

For ten days, the village came alive with costumed parades, the districts' taverns serving traditional Umbrian dishes, games, and shows, in a festival that renews the Renaissance spirit inspired by the tournament in honour of Lucrezia Borgia.

The 2025 edition (35th) featured competitions between the five districts in tests of skill, strength, and luck, historical costumed parades, taverns with traditional Umbrian dishes, games, and shows in the historic centre of Castel Ritaldi.
