Palio del Diotto of Scarperia

The 2025 edition of the Palio del Diotto took place on Monday, September 8, 2025, 719 years after the founding of Scarperia. The day began at 10:00 AM at the Palazzo dei Vicari with the presentation of the Constitution to new 18-year-olds, the presentation of the Palio, and the opening of the games; at noon, the historic tower bell rang out.

In the evening, from 9:00 PM, the grand historical pageant took place with the Florentine Republic procession: hundreds of participants in 15th-century attire accompanied the outgoing Vicar from the Porta Fiorentina to the Piazza dei Vicari for the solemn investiture. Following this, from approximately 9:30 PM, the districts competed in the five traditional games. The Renaissance Days on the first weekend of September opened the festival calendar, which continued with side events until September 21st.
