The 2025 edition
The 43rd edition of the Palio del Ciuccio took place in Cuccaro Vetere on August 11, 12, and 13, 2025, confirming the three-evening format that has made the event a classic of the Cilento summer in the province of Salerno.
The opening on Monday, August 11, was dedicated to the 11th edition of the « Le Città del Palio » award, which brought several prominent national figures to Cuccaro Vetere: magistrate Nicola Graziano, president of UNICEF Italy; magistrate Aldo Carrato, section president of the Court of Cassation; and director and producer Roberto Gasparro.
The following evenings featured the most anticipated events: the historical peasant civilization parade, with participants in period costumes along the village streets, and the donkey race ridden bareback by municipal delegations in Piazza Valiante, accompanied by ancient craft workshops, typical product stalls, and folk music.
