Palio dei Castelli of San Severino Marche

The Palio dei Castelli 2025

In 2025, San Severino Marche once again renewed its appointment with the Palio dei Castelli, the 15th-century re-enactment of the Smeducci Signoria. For over a week, the historic centre hosted costume parades, taverns, flag-wavers, and the traditional medieval competitions, from the Tower Race to the Tug of War.

The highlight was the grand historical pageant with the offering of candles to Saint Severinus the Bishop, patron saint of the city, followed by the finals in Piazza del Popolo. The event, organised by the Palio dei Castelli Association with the Municipality of San Severino Marche, confirmed the strong bond between the castles and districts of the San Severino territory.
