Edition 2025 — Pagnotta Festival

The 2025 edition of the Pagnotta Festival took place on September 7 and 8 in Sannicola, at the heart of the celebrations for the Madonna delle Grazie. The historic center came alive with stalls featuring the pagnotta and Salento specialties, the solemn procession of the patron saint's statue through the illuminated streets, brass band concerts, live music, pizzica, and traditional fireworks to close the festivities.

Pagnotta Festival 2025

On September 7 and 8, 2025, Sannicola (LE) celebrated the Pagnotta Festival as part of the patronal feast of the Madonna delle Grazie. In the historic center, food stalls offered the pagnotta in its traditional versions, along with pittule, grilled meats, local cheeses, desserts, and Salento wines.

The most heartfelt moment was the procession of the Virgin's statue through the town's streets, decorated with artistic lights and accompanied by the brass band. The evenings continued with live music and pizzica, while grand fireworks above the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie concluded the festivities amidst devotion, folklore, and the genuine flavors of the Lecce province.

  • Opening of the pagnotta and Salento specialty food stalls in the historic center
  • 8:00 PM — Solemn procession of the Madonna delle Grazie statue through the town streets
