Edition 2025 — Bean Festival

In 2025, the Paganica Bean Festival did not take place; the event had been absent for nearly forty years since the 1988 edition. The tradition, born in 1972 through the initiative of parish priest Don Riccardo Fiaschetti, was only revived the following year, with the official return in January 2026 thanks to the La Fenice Cultural Association. The Paganica bean, a Slow Food Presidium cultivated in the Vera River valley, remained a protagonist of the L'Aquila territory nonetheless.

During 2025, the Paganica Bean Festival did not take place. After the rare historical editions of 1972 and 1988, the event had been suspended for a long time, and its tradition risked being lost. The bond between the village of Paganica, in the municipality of L'Aquila, and its Slow Food Presidium bean remained alive, however, thanks to local farmers and the promotion of the product in the Vera River valley. The project to revive the festival, promoted by the La Fenice Cultural Association, led to the official return of the celebration in January 2026.
