Our Lady of the Fishermen Festival

2025 Edition

The Our Lady of the Fishermen Festival in Ustica was celebrated on May 25 and 26, 2025, in line with the tradition that places the festival on the last Sunday of May. The day culminated in the sea procession: from the mother church in the square, the statue of the Madonna was carried in a procession to the small port of Cala Santa Maria, accompanied by the brass band and the faithful.

Hoisted onto a boat, the statue circumnavigated the island at sunset, escorted by the fishermen's vessels. Upon returning to the port, mass was celebrated, followed by the customary fried fish feast offered for free to all participants along with wine. The evening concluded with music, dancing, and games in the small port, once again confirming the strong bond between the island of Ustica and its maritime tradition.
