Our Lady of Mount Carmel Festival - Wheat Float Parade

The 2025 festival

In 2025, the Our Lady of Mount Carmel festival in Colle Sannita fell on Monday, August 4th, and was the first to be celebrated under the guidance of the «Madonna del Carmine» Wheat Float Association, established in October 2024 to revive a tradition at risk of fading. The association worked alongside the Festival Committee, Father Sergio Rossetti's parish, and the Municipality of Benevento.

The day of August 4th began with the first wheat float parade, accompanied by the Gambatesa band; at 7:00 PM, mass was held, followed by the procession of the Madonna's statue, preceded by the floats; at 10:00 PM, the concert by «Ad Alta Rotazione» took place in Piazza Flora, followed by a DJ set. On August 5th, the «Anni Novanta e 2000» group took the stage, with another after-party closing the evening.

The program extended beyond the two main days: on Sunday, August 3rd, at 7:30 PM, the exhibition of agricultural tools and jewelry was inaugurated at the former Palazzo Seneca; on Thursday, August 7th, at 10:30 AM, the historical re-enactment of the threshing took place in the Santa Maria della Libera district. The parade also featured works created by students of the Colle Sannita Comprehensive Institute and floats from twinned municipalities, particularly Jelsi and San Marco dei Cavoti.

Sunday, August 3rd, 2025

• 7:30 PM — Former Palazzo Seneca: inauguration of the exhibition of agricultural tools and jewelry.

Monday, August 4th, 2025

• Morning: First wheat float parade with the Gambatesa band.
• 7:00 PM: Holy Mass celebrated by Father Sergio Rossetti.
• Evening: Procession of the statue of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, preceded by the float parade.
• 10:00 PM — Piazza Flora: «Ad Alta Rotazione» in concert, followed by a DJ set.

Tuesday, August 5th, 2025

• Evening — Piazza Flora: «Anni Novanta e 2000» group in concert, followed by a DJ set.

Thursday, August 7th, 2025

• 10:30 AM — Rione Santa Maria della Libera: historical re-enactment of the threshing.

• First edition organized by the new «Madonna del Carmine» Wheat Float Association.
• Float parade with the Gambatesa band and floats from the twinned municipalities of Jelsi and San Marco dei Cavoti.
• Exhibition of agricultural tools and jewelry at the former Palazzo Seneca.
• Historical re-enactment of the threshing on August 7th.
