Our Lady of Mount Carmel Festival

The 2025 edition of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Festival took place in Nicolosi on July 16th, 2025, on the day dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel. As per tradition, the staircase and the facade of the Church of the Carmine were decorated with blue flags and colorful ribbons.

In the evening, the 18th-century wooden statue of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, richly adorned with golden ex-votos and jewelry donated by the faithful, was carried in procession through the main streets of the Etna village, accompanied by the community of Nicolosi, in the province of Catania, in a solemn procession between faith and Sicilian popular tradition.
