Our Lady of Mount Carmel Festival

The 2025 edition of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Festival in Gallipoli took place from July 14th to 16th, with spiritual preparations starting as early as July 6th through the novena, rosaries, and Holy Masses in the chapel and parish church. The Confraternity of Mary Most Holy of Mount Carmel and Mercy led a festival deeply felt by the community of the maritime city.

The highlight was the solemn evening procession on July 15th, which accompanied the statue of Our Lady along the streets of the historic center with the participation of local confraternities and the accompaniment of the Santa Cecilia Brass Band. The civil program offered concerts, musical shows, the "Art of the Madonnaro" exhibition, and the light displays that illuminated the old town. On the evening of July 16th, the day of the feast, the festivities closed with the grand fireworks display on the Riviera Nazario Sauro, with the pyrotechnics reflected on the Ionian Sea.

July 6th: Opening of festivities with Eucharistic concelebration and coronation of the statue.

July 7th-13th: Novena with rosary and Holy Masses in the chapel of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

July 14th: Holy Mass with imposition of the scapular; opening parade with brass band.

July 15th: Eucharistic celebration and solemn evening procession (8:00 PM) in the historic center; brass band concert and musical show in the evening.

July 16th: Holy Masses in the morning, solemn Mass and Te Deum in the evening; "Art of the Madonnaro" exhibition, DJ set, and fireworks display on the Riviera Nazario Sauro.
