The floriculture and garden design exhibition in Italy's easternmost town
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Otranto tra Fiori e Giardini is the exhibition dedicated to the world of greenery that colors the historic center of Otranto, in the province of Lecce, in the heart of Salento, every year at the start of summer. For an entire weekend, Italy's easternmost town turns into a sprawling garden, with floral displays, nursery showrooms, and artistic installations winding through the town center, the walls of the Aragonese Castle, and the Lungomare degli Eroi.
The program is far more than a simple exhibition: alongside industry exhibitors, you will find showrooms focused on floriculture, landscaping, and exterior design, as well as conferences, seminars, workshops, nature excursions, and artistic performances. It is an appointment designed for both gardening enthusiasts and green professionals, who can exchange ideas on the latest trends in the landscaping and nursery sectors.
The days alternate between technical and educational sessions—seminars on wetland conservation, plant wellness, and meetings with consortia and nursery owners—and more experiential offerings: walks among the local wildflowers, land art demonstrations, floral arrangement workshops, and performances dedicated to botanical art. Evenings are equally vibrant, with concerts and shows animating the town squares until late.
The event is conceived and organized by Quarta Agency in collaboration with the Municipality of Otranto, under the artistic direction of Rosanna Quarta and Andrea Rizzo. Over the years, it has established a twinning with Leverano in Fiore, the other major Salento showcase for floriculture, in a dialogue that enhances the green vocation of the entire Province of Lecce.
Setting the event among the medieval alleys, the Cathedral, and the port of Otranto means uniting the beauty of the built landscape with that of the natural one: flowers and plant compositions engage with the white stone of the historic center, creating settings that become the subject of a social media photo contest every year, celebrating the greenest and most flowery corners of the city.
Otranto tra Fiori e Giardini is an event for everyone: families looking for a trip combining nature and culture, plant and gardening enthusiasts, photography lovers, and tourists visiting Salento during this season. Access to the displays in the historic center is free, and the event is part of the rich calendar of spring and summer events in the Municipality of Otranto.
The dates and program for the 2026 edition of Otranto tra Fiori e Giardini have not yet been released. Historically, the event takes place in the historic center of Otranto (LE) at the beginning of summer, with floriculture and garden design exhibitions, seminars, workshops, nature walks, land art, and evening musical events.
