OStiensia – The Awakening of Ostia Antica

The October 25, 2025 edition of OStiensia took place from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM within the archaeological site of Ostia Antica, in the 10th Municipality of Rome. Organized by the Suadela cultural association together with the Archaeological Park and the Superintendency, the day offered educational activities on life in the times of ancient Rome.

Re-enactors in historical attire accompanied the public on a journey into the past through the most significant sectors of the excavations—necropolis, Porta Romana, Via dei Vigili, Piazzale delle Corporazioni, Portico of Pius IX, Forum and Capitolium, Mithraeum of the Baths—with the help of reproductions and reconstructions of period objects. The program also included moments dedicated to the funeral rite and the manumissio, the ceremony for the manumission of slaves.

Single day, 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Re-enactments distributed across the sectors of the archaeological site: necropolis (funeral rite), Porta Romana, Via dei Vigili, Piazzale delle Corporazioni, Portico of Pius IX, Forum and Capitolium, Mithraeum of the Baths. Educational activities at scheduled times on funeral rites and manumissio.
