Edition 2025 — Ostia and Acilia Carnival

In February 2025, the Carnival returned to animate the districts of Rome's Municipio X with masquerade initiatives spread between Ostia and the inland areas. Parades, neighborhood parties, and events dedicated to children accompanied the carnival period on the Roman coast, with the participation of local schools, committees, and associations, following the now-established formula of free admission.

The 2025 Carnival between Ostia and Acilia

In 2025, the carnival period once again brought masks and confetti to the streets of Rome's Municipio X, between the Ostia coast and inland districts such as Acilia. The municipal calendar included a series of events spread over several weeks, with parties aimed primarily at local children and families.

As per recent tradition, the initiatives took place in open, free-access spaces, involving schools, neighborhood committees, and local cultural associations. The approach is that of a grassroots carnival: not large floats, but processions and entertainment designed to bring residents back into the squares and streets of the neighborhood.

The 2025 edition paved the way for the formula adopted the following year, that of the double simultaneous parade between Ostia Ponente and Acilia, which confirmed the Carnival as one of the most popular winter events on the Roman coast.
