Edition 2025 — Organum Multiplum

The first edition of Organum Multiplum took place from November 7 to 28, 2025, during the Holy Year, as a sonic pilgrimage in three "chapters" across four historic churches in Rome. Curated by Vittoria Bonifati for Villa Lontana, it brought together international contemporary organ music artists for free-admission, site-specific concerts.

Organum Multiplum 2025: the first edition

From November 7 to 28, 2025, for the Jubilee, the festival inaugurated its journey through four churches in Rome: Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri, Santo Stefano Rotondo al Celio, San Luigi dei Francesi, and Nostra Signora del Santissimo Sacramento e dei Santi Martiri Canadesi.

The calendar was divided into three chapters: the first (November 7-11) featured Ellen Arkbro, Hampus Lindwall, and Hanne Lippard; the second (November 18-21) featured Kali Malone and Maxime Denuc; the third (November 25-28) featured Sarah Davachi and the closing concert by Jonathan Fitoussi. Each evening offered a site-specific experience, built on the dialogue between the historic organ, the architectural space, and the artists' research, all with free admission.

Programme

Chapter I: November 7 – Ellen Arkbro (Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri); November 9 – Ellen Arkbro, Hampus Lindwall, Hanne Lippard (Santo Stefano Rotondo al Celio); November 11 – Hampus Lindwall (San Luigi dei Francesi). Chapter II: November 18 – Kali Malone (Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri); November 21 – Maxime Denuc (San Luigi dei Francesi). Chapter III: November 25 – Sarah Davachi (San Luigi dei Francesi); November 28 – Jonathan Fitoussi, closing concert (Nostra Signora del Santissimo Sacramento e dei Santi Martiri Canadesi).

Highlights

Ellen Arkbro, Kali Malone, Sarah Davachi, Maxime Denuc, Jonathan Fitoussi, Hampus Lindwall, and Hanne Lippard among the artists; concerts in the Michelangelo basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli and the ancient Santo Stefano Rotondo.
