Orestiadi di Gibellina Festival

The 44th edition of the Orestiadi di Gibellina, directed by Alfio Scuderi, took place from June 27 to August 3, 2025, at the Baglio Di Stefano, with a preview on June 27 and 28 dedicated to Emilio Isgrò and the "Notte del Contemporaneo" (Night of the Contemporary). The programme brought together 18 performances, 4 exhibitions, and 5 book presentations, with a major tribute to the centenary of Andrea Camilleri (the "Gran circo Taddei", the musical tribute "Zara Zabara" featuring music by Olivia Sellerio, and Luca Zingaretti reading "Autodifesa di Caino" at the Cretto). Among the protagonists were Sergio Rubini with "Macbeth vs Macbeth", Emma Dante, Ascanio Celestini with "Poveri Cristi", Antonio Latella, as well as musical tributes to David Lynch (Roy Paci) and Fabrizio De André (Danilo Rea). An edition that projected the town of Gibellina, in the province of Trapani, towards the title of first Italian Capital of Contemporary Art.
