Edition 2025 — Vertical Cima Mares

In 2025, the Vertical Cima Mares once again opened the Orco Valley Night Vertical Circuit season in Alpette. On the usual 3.3 km course with 700 meters of elevation gain, about fifty athletes tackled the evening climb toward Cima Mares, kicking off a series of events spread throughout the summer across the municipalities of the Orco Valley, in the upper Canavese.

The 2025 edition of the Vertical Cima Mares confirmed the formula that made the Orco Valley Night Vertical Circuit popular: an uphill-only race, short but demanding, run in the early evening with a start from Alpette (Turin) and a finish at Cima Mares, covering 3.3 km and 700 meters of elevation gain.

The event opened the seasonal calendar of the circuit, which every year gathers mountain running enthusiasts from Piedmont between the Orco and Soana valleys. The organization, handled by the ASD Gran Paradiso Valle Orco with the support of local volunteers, confirmed the unique atmosphere of sunset races, amidst the woods and high-altitude panoramas of the Gran Paradiso National Park.
