Opening of the Biella Carnival — Pettirosso and Capinera

The 2025 edition of the opening of the Biella Carnival took place in Occhieppo Inferiore (BI) on Monday, January 6th, organized by the Circolo il Pettirosso. The town's official masks, the Pettirosso ("Picio ross") and the Capinera, kicked off the local carnival season.

The program included a morning gathering of costumed characters at the Club on Via Rossini, a costumed Holy Mass in the parish church of Sant'Antonino, a parade through the town streets to the multi-purpose hall, and, in the afternoon, the presentation of the groups with the participation of guest masks from various locations. A traditional and well-attended day, also captured by the local Biella press with photos and videos.
