Edition 2025 — Open Studios AAR

The 2025 Open Studios at the American Academy in Rome took place on Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, in the McKim, Mead & White Building on the Janiculum Hill. The public walked through the studios of Rome Prize Fellows and Italian Fellows, discovering works in progress spanning visual arts, architecture, design, literature, and musical composition, with readings and concerts throughout the evening.

In the 2025 edition, the Fellows opened the Academy's studios and common spaces, presenting projects that addressed themes such as climate change, forest fires, urban photography, and the study of Renaissance books. Artistic interventions included new landscapes, natural materials, the revival of art printing, and conceptual installations distributed throughout the building. The free evening alternated studio visits with a program of musical and literary performances between 6:15 PM and 9:00 PM, confirming the American Academy in Rome's commitment to opening its doors to the city of Rome and the Lazio region.
