Edition 2025 — Open Gate Caorso

In 2025, Open Gate once again opened the gates of the former Caorso nuclear power plant to the public, as part of the national initiative where Sogin annually guides visitors through Italy's nuclear facilities undergoing decommissioning. As tradition dictates, the free guided tours covered both the controlled zone and the industrial area, led by Sogin and Nucleco technicians over a weekend in May.

The 2025 edition of Open Gate confirmed Sogin's established formula: a weekend of open doors at the Caorso plant (PC) and other Italian nuclear facilities undergoing decommissioning, with free guided tours by reservation. Visitors were able to explore the site's controlled zone and industrial area, accompanied by Sogin and Nucleco technicians who explained the dismantling activities and the safe management of radioactive waste.

As every year, available spots were quickly filled, confirming the public's strong interest in one of the most significant chapters of Emilia-Romagna's and Italy's industrial and energy history.
