Edition 2025 — Open Doors between Sesia and Agogna

Even before the success of the 2026 edition, the Romanesque heritage between the Sesia and Agogna rivers was at the center of attention for municipalities, parishes, and associations in the Novara region. The Oratory of Saints Peter and Paul in Fara Novarese, with its 15th-century frescoes and the famous cycle of the months, has for years been one of the most significant treasures in the Province of Novara, Piedmont.

The 2025 context

Throughout 2025, the theme of enhancing the medieval churches and oratories of the Novara region continued to involve local administrations, parishes, and volunteers in the municipalities between the Sesia and Agogna rivers. The Oratory of Saints Peter and Paul in Fara Novarese, in the Province of Novara, confirmed itself as one of the main references for this Romanesque heritage, thanks to the 15th-century frescoes preserved in the apse and the rare cycle of the months.

This growing attention laid the foundations for the coordinated opening initiative that found full expression in the 2026 edition, which was able to attract over a thousand visitors in a single day.
