On the Trail of Franco Enna

During 2025, the Bottega Culturale - Isole dell'entroterra siciliano cooperative developed and submitted the On the Trail of Franco Enna project, which would go on to receive funding from the Ministry of Culture as part of the 2026 Special Projects - Theatre programme. The festival, conceived to celebrate the 105th anniversary of the birth of Franco Enna (pseudonym of Francesco Cannarozzo), was created as a widespread festival across Enna, Aidone, and Piazza Armerina, under the artistic direction of Antonio Messina. The goal is to enhance Sicilian archaeological heritage - from the Villa Romana del Casale to the Morgantina Park - through theatre, crime literature, and literary walks. The actual edition debuts in 2026.
