Edition 2025 — Oliveto May
In August 2025, Oliveto Lucano renewed the Oliveto May and the feast of Saint Cyprian from August 10 to 12, with the cutting and transport of the trees from the Gallipoli Cognato forest, the procession of the saint, the erection and climbing of the Maggio.
The 2025 Edition
In 2025, the Oliveto May took place from August 10 to 12, faithful to the rite passed down through generations. The community of Oliveto Lucano cut and transported the Maggio and Cima from the Gallipoli Cognato forest, celebrated the procession of Saint Cyprian, and erected the tree in the center of the village, where young people engaged in the traditional climbing, amidst songs, dances, and flavors of the Lucanian tradition.
