Short films made by schools tell the story of Val Trompia
OffiCinema Valtrompia is a project that puts the camera in the hands of students from schools in Val Trompia, in the province of Brescia, including the institutes in Lumezzane. The result is ten short films made entirely by the young people, who tell the story of the valley, its history, and its identity through their own perspectives.
The initiative was born within the "L'immagine si fa scuola" project, which uses audiovisual language as an educational and citizenship tool. The short films are united by the theme of the iron route and the communities that inhabit Val Trompia, in a journey that intertwines industrial memory, landscape, and daily life.
The screenings are not concentrated in a single venue but are distributed across various municipalities in the valley, transforming museums, parish cinemas, and civic halls into places for collective viewing. This widespread format enhances the local places and brings the audience closer to the work of the young filmmakers.
Promoted by the Neverland Association with the support of the Ministry of Culture, OffiCinema Valtrompia involves over a thousand students and numerous schools in the valley. It is a project that uses cinema as a tool for growth, participation, and storytelling about the territory, giving voice and image to the new generations of Val Trompia, from Lumezzane to the towns in the upper valley.
The 2026 edition of OffiCinema Valtrompia brings ten short films made entirely by schools to the valley's screens, focusing on the iron route and the communities of Val Trompia. Screenings will be held from May 22 to 30 in various municipalities, with the opening on May 21 at the Cinema Teatro San Faustino in Sarezzo. Over a thousand students are participating in the project, including those from IC Lumezzane Polo Ovest. The initiative is promoted by the Neverland Association with the support of the Ministry of Culture.
Events related to Lumezzane are also scheduled within the project's initiatives.
Screenings take place in various municipalities in Val Trompia (BS), including Gardone Val Trompia, Tavernole sul Mella, Sarezzo, Collio, and Brescia, as well as initiatives related to Lumezzane.
Screenings are concentrated in the spring; consult the updated calendar for dates and venues.
Check access methods and tickets on the project's channels and those of the host municipalities.
