Edition 2025 — Novello in Festa
Two days of wine and tradition
The 27th edition of Novello in Festa was held on November 8-9, 2025, in the historic center of Leverano. Saturday saw the opening with illuminations, the inauguration of the Salone dei Vini del Salento, and the opening of the Torre Federiciana to visitors; the Vecchia Torre, Conti Zecca, and Agricola dell'Arneo wineries offered their new wines for tasting. They were accompanied by Salento cuisine—meatballs, meat cooked "alla pignata," turnip tops, and fried pittule—as well as the "Segni della Nigredo," "Salsedine '70," and "Calcatreppula" exhibitions.
Sport, taste, and folk music
Sunday, November 9, featured the 5th Corrinovello, "DOC Tour" walks through the vineyards, the Novello Satanello—the chili-eating contest—and tarantella music. Traditional Salento groups such as Niuri te sule, I Pizzicati, Jonica Popolare, and Cunservamara took turns on the stages. The event was organized by the Pro Loco Leverano with the Municipality, the BCC, and the GAL Terra d'Arneo.
