Nova Eroica Gran Sasso 2025

The 2025 edition of Nova Eroica Gran Sasso was held in Castel del Monte, in the province of L'Aquila, with the race day on Saturday, June 7, starting at 9 am from the village. The event offered four tracks for every level: the long Terre della Baronia and Campo Imperatore route (137 km gravel with about 2,970 metres of elevation gain), the 84 km medium route, the 92 km road route, and the more accessible Rocca di Calascio Tour of 60 km.

All routes crossed iconic sites of the Central Apennines such as Campo Imperatore, the Campo Rotondo plain, and the Rocca di Calascio, along the ancient transhumance sheep tracks. The village of Castel del Monte was animated by music, local products, and locally-sourced refreshment stops, in perfect Eroica style, with Sunday dedicated to exploring the territory.
