Nov'Aria Festival

The seventh edition of the Nov'Aria Festival, titled "Sciarammu", was held in Novara di Sicilia (Messina) from August 18 to 21, 2025, as part of the third edition of "Novara in Festa". The program alternated between evening shows in Piazza Duomo and events spread throughout the village streets.

Highlights included the theatrical production "Sceccu, Cavallo e Re", the "Gran cabaret de Madame Pistache", the gestural show "Tip Tap Poum", the monologue "Il fuoriclasse", and a contemporary reinterpretation of "Bohème – ultimo atto". There were also workshops on local specialties, such as the one dedicated to "turtò" at the Mulino Giorginaro, the re-enactment of the Maiorchino game, and a demonstration of the ancient grape harvest at the rock-hewn palmento. The edition, with free admission, was dedicated to the memory of journalist Fabio Postiglione.

Monday, August 18: Hike to the archaeological site of Rocca Salvatesta and "Byzantine Trumpets at Sunset" concert in Piazza Stancanelli Basile (5:00 PM); "Sceccu, Cavallo e Re" show in Piazza Duomo (10:00 PM). Tuesday, August 19: "turtò" workshop at Mulino Giorginaro (11:00 AM); "Gran cabaret de Madame Pistache" and "Tip Tap Poum" in Piazza Duomo (10:00 PM). Wednesday, August 20: Re-enactment of the Maiorchino game from Piazza Michele Bertolami (4:30 PM); book presentation "Utopie nel mezzo" (6:30 PM); "Summer Time" and "Il fuoriclasse" in Piazza Duomo (10:00 PM). Thursday, August 21: Grape harvest demonstration at the rock-hewn palmento (10:00 AM); "Bohème – ultimo atto" in Piazza Duomo (10:00 PM). Prologue event on August 13 with a hike to Castello d'Orlando and the symposium "Myth and Art in Novara di Sicilia".
