Edition 2025 — Notes in the Cloisters
The first edition of Notes in the Cloisters of Empoli, in 2025, featured eight free concerts from June 1 to July 31, at 9:15 PM, in the cloisters of Santa Maria a Ripa, the Collegiate Church of Sant'Andrea, and the Augustinians. The festival opened with "Eight Seasons for a Bandoneon" featuring Fabio Furìa on bandoneon, Ettore Pellegrino, and the ICO Suoni del Sud Orchestra, with music by Vivaldi and Piazzolla. On June 12, the program featured Mozart, Darmanin, and Grieg with Fabrizio Meloni (clarinet) and the Il Contrappunto Orchestra conducted by Damiano Tognetti. To close, on July 31, world-renowned guitarist Eliot Fisk performed alongside his daughter Raquel Fisk on piano. The success of the first edition, which was completely sold out, paved the way for the sister festival "Music in the Villages".
