Night of the Lanterns

On Sunday, December 7, 2025, Saracinesco hosted the second edition of the Night of the Lanterns, organized by the Pro Loco of Saracinesco and the Associazione Corte Saracena with the patronage of the Municipality and the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital. The day opened at 5:00 PM with a Christmas concert in the Church of San Michele Arcangelo; from 6:00 PM, the lantern path guided visitors to the highest point of the village.

Three areas were dedicated to street food: Piazza Roma with polenta, mixed fried foods, piadinas, desserts, and mulled wine; Via Principe di Piemonte with chicken or tripe sandwiches; Piazza San Michele with red wine and meatball sandwiches. The evening was also enlivened by fire-eater shows, the snowfall at court, bouncy castles for children, and hidden nativity scenes to be discovered in the alleys. Admission was free, with the Civil Protection service directing traffic to parking areas at the entrance to the pedestrian village.
