New Year's Day Plunge

The 2025 edition of the New Year's Day Plunge in Riva del Garda went down in the event's history with an absolute record of 200 divers. On January 1st, 2025, at the Piazza Catena harbor, participants immersed themselves in the waters of Lake Garda at a temperature of about 10 degrees, in front of thousands of spectators gathered on the waterfront.

Among the divers, 142 men and 58 women: the oldest was Victor Cura, 92 years old, the dean of the event, while the youngest was just 9 years old. The variety of origins was remarkable, with participants from Australia, Germany, Romania, Malta, the United States, Croatia, Poland, Russia, and Austria, confirming the international fame achieved by an event born in 1999 as a meeting between nine friends. The initiative, organized by the Comitato Giacomo Cis, took place safely under the supervision of the Fire Brigade and the Coast Guard.
