Neapolis Marathon

The fifth edition

On Sunday, October 19, 2025, Naples came to a standstill for the fifth edition of the Neapolis Marathon, starting at 8:00 AM from Piazza del Plebiscito with a six-hour time limit. The Municipality of Naples had implemented a comprehensive traffic management plan, with numerous streets closed to traffic throughout the morning.

The route traversed the city's iconic landmarks—from the Caracciolo seafront to Mergellina, from Via Marina to Corso Umberto I—with views of Mount Vesuvius, Castel dell'Ovo, Maschio Angioino, and the Teatro San Carlo, culminating in the evocative passage on the San Vincenzo pier.

Over 5,500 athletes were at the starting line for the marathon, half marathon, and the non-competitive Sea Run, with about 40% international participants and 30% female participation. All finishers received the official medal designed by master artist Lello Esposito, while the Village in Piazza del Plebiscito hosted music, meetings, and family-friendly initiatives.
