National Festival of the Befana

The 2025 edition, the 28th, opened its doors on January 3rd with the symbolic handover of the city keys to the Befana by Mayor Marco Ciccolini, followed by the historical procession and the first flying descent of the Befana from the Bell Tower with a candy drop. In the following days, the Befane paraded through the historic center distributing candy to children, while on Sunday a falconry show took place. Among the attractions were the famous record-breaking Befana Stocking, the "Musica Arabita", face painting and "Vesti-Befana" (Dress-up Befana) workshops, and tastings of crostolo, fritters, and truffle products. An event organized by Pro Loco Casteldurante in Urbania, in the province of Pesaro and Urbino, in the Marche region.
