National and International Poetry Competition "Salisano in Poesia"

The first edition in 2025

The debut of "Salisano in Poesia", promoted by the Municipality of Salisano at the initiative of Mayor Gisella Petrocchi, brought 82 poems by 37 authors from all over Italy to the small Rieti village. The set theme of Category A invited reflection on the phrase attributed to Teilhard de Chardin, "we are spiritual beings living a human experience", while the other two categories were dedicated to the free theme and dialect poetry. The awards ceremony was held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele: the top three finishers in each category received plaques and scrolls with the jury's motivations, along with special prizes and honorable mentions. The success of the first edition convinced the Municipality to make the competition an annual summer event in Bassa Sabina.
