Napoleonic Week

In 2025, the Napoleonic Week animated Portoferraio at the beginning of May, forming part of the celebrations for the 211th anniversary of Napoleon's landing on Elba Island. That year, the event once again combined historical education and costumed re-enactment, with the involvement of local associations.

On May 4th, the conference on the "Napoleonic Flag of the Three Bees" was held in the Palazzo della Biscotteria ceremony hall; in the afternoon, the re-enactment began with a blank cannon shot from Molo Elba, followed by the Associazione Historiae's historical pageant towards the Te Deum in the Cathedral. Guided by the Petite Armée re-enactors, visitors were able to participate in an urban trekking tour following the Emperor's footsteps to discover the city's Napoleonic sites. On May 5th, at 10:30 AM, the Church of the Misericordia on Salita Napoleone hosted the traditional memorial Mass on the anniversary of the Emperor's death.
