Edition 2025 — Historical Novel Festival

In 2025, the Murello Historical Novel Festival had not yet taken place: the event officially debuts in 2026 with its first edition. The previous year was dedicated to project planning and promoting the memory of Edoardo Calandra, the Murello-born writer and author of 'La Bufera', around whom the festival was conceived.

The Historical Novel Festival of Murello was officially born in 2026; therefore, there is no 2025 edition of the event. The period leading up to the debut was a time for the Municipal Administration to plan and build the partnerships that made the festival possible, starting with the patronage of the Piedmont Region and the Turin International Book Fair.

The bond between Murello and historical literature, however, has much deeper roots, thanks to the figure of Edoardo Calandra and his novel 'La Bufera' (1899), which is set in this corner of the Province of Cuneo. It is from this legacy that the idea sprouted to dedicate a festival to the town entirely focused on the historical novel, a genre capable of uniting narrative, memory, and the identity of the Piedmontese territory.
