'mpilla Festival

The 2025 edition

The 'mpilla Festival took place in August 2025 in the rural setting of the Parco di Chiesanuova, a district of Sannicola (LE). Once again, the heart of the festival was the 'mpilla, the PAT rustic focaccia of the area, which was the star of tastings and samplings.

The program combined markets of agricultural products, dried fruits, wines, oil, and traditional sweets with direct sales from small producers, cycling excursions through the Salento countryside, and evening folk music performances, featuring traditional rhythms and sounds. A community evening that highlighted the agricultural and gastronomic identity of Sannicola in the heart of Salento.

The 2025 edition featured:

• Cycling excursions in the Chiesanuova countryside toward the Ionian Sea, in collaboration with Salento cycle-tourism groups.
• Producer markets: direct sale of agricultural products, dried fruits, wines, extra virgin olive oil, and traditional sweets.
• Tastings of 'mpilla, the traditional rustic focaccia of Sannicola.
• Live folk music in the evening, with performances by groups from the Salento area.
