The first edition of the 'Mpanata Fest

From August 21 to 23, 2025, Gela hosted the first edition of the 'Mpanata Fest at the Rotonda Est in Macchitella. For three evenings, from 6:00 PM until late at night, local bakeries and businesses offered their versions of the 'Mpanata, accompanied by live shows and music. The event, organized by the The Martedì association with the support of the municipal administration, mobilized a large group of volunteers.

The most anticipated moment was the free concert by The Kolors, the festival's headliner. Due to the lead singer Stash testing positive for Covid, the concert date was postponed and rescheduled for Sunday, August 31, 2025, at the Rotonda di Macchitella. To ensure safety, the mayor issued specific ordinances regarding the use of glass containers and cans during the event days.

2025 Program

• August 21-22 — 'Mpanata Fest: tastings of 'Mpanata from local bakeries, shows, and live music (from 6:00 PM to midnight)
• August 23 — Main event with a concert by The Kolors (free admission); due to the lead singer Stash testing positive for Covid, the concert was rescheduled for August 31
