The 2025 edition of the Mountain Serpentone took place in Marcetelli on Tuesday, August 12, from 6:30 PM until late at night. The 2025 Mountain Serpentone

On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 6:30 PM, Marcetelli hosted a new edition of the Mountain Serpentone, the food and wine trail that enlivens the streets of the village in the province of Rieti, Lazio, every summer, just a stone's throw from Lago del Salto.

The route featured seven stops dedicated to good food: aperitif and porcini mushroom bruschetta, flour-and-water pizzicotti, lentil soup, local pecorino and prosciutto, pecora allu cotturu cooked with tomato and chili, and finally donuts and watermelon, with wine served along the entire path.

The evening was accompanied by live music in Piazza San Rocco and folk songs along the village streets. During the event, visitors were offered tours of the Museum of Craftsmanship and Peasant Life and the village's iconic landmarks: the 11th-century Church of Santa Maria in Villa, the octagonal fountain, and the gate of the ancient castrum. The hospitality was provided, as always, by the residents of Marcetelli and the volunteers of the Pro Loco.
