Mostra Mercato del Farro DOP e dei Prodotti Tipici della Montagna

The 2025 edition of the Mostra Mercato del Farro DOP (DOP Spelt Exhibition Market) took place in Monteleone di Spoleto from December 5th to 10th, in a special format dedicated to the spelt sowing season. Six days that combined local specialties, archeology, and Christmas festivities in Umbria's highest municipality, in the province of Perugia.

The festival opened on December 5th, the eve of San Nicola's feast day, with the distribution of the Minestra di San Nicola (Saint Nicholas' Soup) blessed by the parish priest, commemorating the legend of the saint who saved children from hunger. On December 6th, the patron saint's feast day, a solemn Mass was held, followed by a performance by the Monteleone Band and a gathering of family heads. Between December 8th and 9th, the DOP Spelt and typical mountain products exhibition market was set up in the square beneath the Clock Tower, showcasing DOP, DOC, DOCG, and IGP products from the Valnerina region in a Christmas setting. December 9th marked the grand finale with the lighting of the Wool Tree, the Valnerina Nativity scene in Ruscio, and the Focone della Venuta, the bonfire that illuminates the passage of the Holy House of Nazareth.

• Solemn Mass in honor of the patron saint San Nicola
• Performance by the Monteleone di Spoleto Band for its founding anniversary

December 9, 2025 — Grand Finale

• Lighting of the Wool Tree and the Valnerina Nativity scene in the hamlet of Ruscio (5:00 PM)
• Focone della Venuta: the large bonfire lit in the market square to illuminate the passage of the Holy House of Nazareth
