Moricola Festival

The 33rd edition of the Moricola Festival took place on Sunday, August 24, 2025, in the San Leucio district, the highest neighborhood of Veroli, in the province of Frosinone. As per tradition, the festival was paired with the centuries-old Feast of the Madonna del Rifugio, uniting the religious and popular aspects in a single day of community.

The public rediscovered the ingredients that have made the event conceived by Professor Luigi Mastrop by Professor Luigi Mastropietro a success since 1988: the tasting and awarding of desserts and jams prepared with blackberries gathered in the preceding days, the weighing of the moricole with an antique scale, traditional games for adults and children, the tombola and charity raffle, dancing in the square, and, to close the evening, the «Rocca in flames» fireworks display that illuminated the ancient San Leucio fortress.
